A simple Thank you

This article I relax, take a step back and honestly express my gratitude.

Gratitude has many theoretical definitions though all come up to the same by definition, it is the state of being grateful or thankful. It is universally seen as a positive human attribute. You can hear how highly gratitude is thought of over and over again in sayings from all over the world.

Being thankful is one of the best features of Islam.

A Roman saying goes a thankful heart is not only the greatest virtue but the parent of all virtues.

A Yiddish proverb goes the truly rich are those who enjoy what they have – Yiddish proverb

Perhaps the gratitude has been praised for centuries in so many cultures for good reason. Studies have shown that expressing gratitude is connected to a wide variety of positive outcomes.

Gratitude may help us deal with stress. For example, over a decade evidence has been mounting to show that gratitude mitigates the negative consequences of traumatic events. Of course, the benefits of gratitude extend far beyond serious traumatic events. Simply expressing gratitude has positive effects on daily lives.

I was speaking to some High school students about gratitude. Students that counted their blessings expressed enhanced self- reported gratitude, optimism, life satisfaction and decreased negative feelings. In adults the keeping of gratitude Journals and reading led to overall happier thoughts. Also, they tend to help someone with a personal problem or offered emotional support to another, suggesting that the positive effects of gratitude expand outward.

Given the benefits of expressing thanks, I decided to do myself. And I recommend each and every reader to do so kindly if you wish to.

I sat out on my couch with a pad of paper and my favorite purple pen, whiling myself away from the phones and I-pads. I wrote out all the little things in my life that I am thankful for. It turned out to be a quiet long list about nine pages long, actually. So rather than bore you with the whole thing, I’ve included few of my favorite highlights. You can send into vibe yours as well. I am thankful to almighty Allah for bestowing knowledge on us. I am thankful to my beloved mother late Azeeza Ibrahim and Father Abdul Guddoos, my loving brothers and sisters & their families, who helped me become the woman I am.

I am thankful for all the people in my life who have made me smile. If you have ever been my friend then you have surely made me smile a lot, I’m extra grateful to close friends and my school classmates/ friends

I refer to them as MK’s with love. Hope they will not mind me publicizing it. I love them all. They enrich my life.

I am thankful to my colleagues from MPND and TVM and others whom I work with. They truly enriched my life with knowledge, wisdom and happiness.

Deep from my heart I thank my audience. They convey immense love. Whether I’m on screen or off screen. Especially when I visit the islands of Maldives they give me love and respect. I owe them a lot. I’m thankful to the natural world and people I meet as a developmentalist and journalist. I get to explore and visit different islands and other countries to mostly bring the people’s stories to the viewers.

I am thankful for the people and things that inspire me to do what I love to do be it Rotary Club of Male’ or Blind and visually impaired society of Maldives.

I am thankful to my soulmate Hassan, has we celebrated 23 years of togetherness. I enjoy life every moment with you and you are my greatest inspiration to be humble. My 18-month-old son Hawi Hasnanin Hassan Haleem my 4H. I’m forever learning to be a mother from you. I adore you both.

I am thankful to coffee, without which I feel down, to be frank. People who love food and appreciate eating with productive discussions always make me happy. I am thankful for little surprises. Last but not the least Thankyou the vibrant vibe team and for it is you, my readers and viewers that make me feel worthwhile.
