AACS Graduation Fashion Show – Graduation Model Show 2016 – 3RD Edition

AACS Graduation Fashion Show; Graduation Model Show – 2016 – 3RD Edition was concluded successfully on 30th November 2016 at Galadari Hotel, Colombo, Sri Lanka with the award presentation followed by an after party. It was an outstanding event as a batch of young fresh fashion designers and professional models have launched and awarded for their inspired talents. The event has intended to give an extraordinary yet unforgettable experience to the audience in every perspective than the 1st and 2nd editions.

There were 12 awards presented at the event. Collections of designers and segments of models were judged by an industry best panel of judges namely Mr. Charith Wijesekera, Ms. Indeevari Yapa Abeywardena, Ms. Nadeeka Perera, Ms. Chandi Delwala and Ms. Visna Fernando.

The award categories were The Best Collection won by Gnei Fazmeen Sourjah, The Best Stylish & Commercial Collection won by Shantharubiney Shanmuganathan, The Best Designer in Marketing Practice won by Shantharubiney Shanmuganathan, The Most Preferred Designer won by Gnei Fazmeen Sourjah, The Best Dressed Designer won by Gnei Fazmeen Sourjah,  The Best Model won by Muthuporuthotage Salini Rasadi Perera, The Best Catwalk Model won by Gardiyawasam Punchihewage Dalrine Shasha Senanayake, The Best Personality Model won by Muthuporuthotage Salini Rasadi Perera, The Most Photogenic Model won by Hewa Kirindage Sachini Kanchana Kumarasiri, The Best Physiques Model won by Akash Melan Prakash, The Best National Costume Designer won by Athauda Rathnayake Liyanage Dulani Tharuka Rathnayake and The Best Fashion Model won by Lankika Pushpini Mathotaarachchi.

The show comprised collections of many themes presented by the Diploma in Fashion Design and Diploma in Professional Model students. Inspirations of designers showcasing graduation collections were Antarctica by Shantharubiney, Peacock by Pradeep, Sea by Nusky, Volcano by Fazmeen, Scarlet Macaw by Dulani, Rhythm of Waves by Shashika, Fauna and Flora by Manaharie, Bamboo Leaves by Rashfa, Sensation by Uchitha and Autumn Ends Winter Begins by Fawwazah. Segments of models showcasing graduation collections were National Costume segment under the concepts of Paradise Island by Namal (Designed by Fazmeen), Jungle Fowl by Akash (Designed by Shantharubiney), Liyawela by Isuru (Designed by Gulam), Gajaman Nona by Shasha (Designed by Thilantha), Sesath by Sachini (Designed by Asanka), Maniakkitha Naga King by Dilan (Designed by Arunesh), Wesmuhuna by Rizwan (Designed by Manaharie), Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Kandyan Eras by Shenolia (Designed by Fawwazah) and Blue Water Lily by Salini (Designed by Dulani), Casual Wear-Handling of Accessories segment, Swim/Beach/Resort Wear segment and finally the elegant Evening Wear collection sponsored by Pettah Tailors and Bridal Arcade of Sri Lanka.

There were two special segments showcased on the ramp in addition to the above. A “Life Underwater” themed collection by the guest designer Aishath Hannah Mohamed of Maldives, the main designer of the VIBE Magazine, Maldives and a garment collection by the GOLD SPONSOR, to promote their brand American Egret by D & A Fashion, Sri Lanka.

And most importantly VIBE Magazine, Maldives was the International Life Style partner for the event for the second time.
